Our Founders
Horse & Chariot was founded in 2019 by husband and wife J.B. Kellogg and Gina Kellogg, parents of a family of six with a shared passion for faith, virtue, and character.
The journey began with Gina, who first encountered the ancient analogy of the horse and chariot—a timeless image illustrating the relationship between the intellect, the will, and the passions, and how a well-ordered soul leads to a virtuous life. Recognizing its depth and beauty, she quickly shared it with J.B., sparking a season of deep study and reflection.
As J.B. immersed himself in the teachings of virtue, he discovered something striking: for centuries, virtue was a foundational part of character education, taught in schools until the early 1900s, when it gradually began to disappear. This realization troubled both J.B. and Gina. They could see the effects of this loss reflected in modern culture—and felt compelled to respond.
What began as a simple effort to write short, accessible teachings on virtue for their own children soon grew into something more. After much prayer and discernment, J.B. felt a clear call to share these teachings beyond his family. That calling was confirmed through a profound sign—one God had planted in his life more than 20 years earlier.

With clarity and conviction, J.B. and Gina founded Horse & Chariot and began sharing short teachings on virtue through Instagram. The response was immediate and overwhelming. People asked for lesson plans, related Scripture, deeper explanations, and ways to use the material in families, schools, churches, and small groups.
In response, the Horse & Chariot website was launched—transforming a family mission into a growing ministry dedicated to sharing the soul-lifting, character-forming Christian teachings of virtue with the world.

Co-Founder & Chair
J.B. provides the overall vision and leadership for Horse & Chariot. He oversees all operations, sets mission-aligned goals and budgets, and serves as the chief director, producer, and editor of the ministry’s teaching content—ensuring everything remains aligned with truth, beauty, and goodness.
Gina Kellogg
Co-Founder & Vice Chair
Gina helps shape the vision and expansion of the Horse & Chariot’s product offerings. She leads product research and development, supports women’s, children’s, and diversity initiatives, helps guide social media, and ensures the ministry remains accessible, engaging, and rooted in family life.
Joseph Kellogg
Board Treasurer
Joe oversees all financial and tax-related activities for Horse & Chariot. He helps manage the budget and accounting systems, tracks financial health and compliance, and provides strategic financial guidance to support responsible stewardship and long-term sustainability.
Jerry Kelly
Board Secretary
Jerry oversees legal filings and documentation, manages trademarks and intellectual property protection, and supports marketing campaign oversight. He also provides strategic and operational feedback, helping ensure Horse & Chariot operates with clarity and sound governance.
Caylon Headrick
Creative Director
Caylon leads all design, branding, and creative direction for Horse & Chariot—including video and audio design, multimedia, print, and product design—bringing the timeless teachings of Christian virtue to life in a rich, beautiful, and visually compelling way.
